Tollers are exceptionally smart dogs and although a lot of our dogs are in competition homes they are first and foremost cherished family members. If you are a walker, jogger, camper, like to spend time outdoors, have access to safe areas to play ball or throw a frisbee, committed to giving your puppy at least 20 weeks of obedience, then a Toller may do excellent with your lifestyle.
However this is not the right dog if you want one that will be happy sitting on the couch all day. But if you can balance the “couch” time with some activity to keep him busy this may be the breed for you. A Toller does well in an active family, is good with kids, is fun to be around and I would have a hard time finding another breed that I enjoy as much as a Toller. It is their versatility, their attitude that life is a game and their happy temperaments that attracted me to the breed so may years ago.
