obedience

Obedience classes are a must to have a good canine companion and are the foundation of any other sport you may want to play in with them. Puppy classes should begin between 12 and 16 wks and continue for at least 20 wks. Our puppy contract asks for a minimum of 20 wks of obedience classes.

In obedience competitions dogs must perform tasks such as precision heeling, group stays, recalls, retrieving, scent discrimination and directed jumping. The dogs must show accuracy for each exercise in order to receive a passing grade. Dogs compete through three levels to achieve Obedience Trial Champion (OTCH) status then further to OTCH Excellent and Master OTCH.

Three Foxgrove Dogs have attained MOTCH status.
Taffy (CH MOTCH Foxgrove’s Circle of Life RE WCX SH)
Spirit (CH MOTCH Foxgrove’s Celtic Spirit JH WCI)
Charger (MOTCH Foxgrove’s Guilty As Charged SH WCX AGI AGIJ
